Season 1967/8 was momentous in the history of Chesham United Football Club. ‘Little Chesham’, 1000-1 outsiders, played their first Amateur Cup tie in September 1967, little realisisng that, 7 months later, the team would be walking out at Wembley to contest the Final in front of a crowd of over 52,000.
To celebrate this never-to-be-forgotten achievement, a commemorative 64-page book has been published, co-authored by David Mortimer and John Hatch. They have gathered together contemporary Press coverage, photographs and memorabilia from the 1967/8 season, to accompany the text, which will give CUFC fans, as well as members of the wider football community, a flavour of what it was like during that amazing record- breaking season.
This is a tribute to a special time and team.
